It is honestly the best experience I have ever stumbled upon. I have done different types of yoga in the past but never really got the benefits I have received by Yoga Nidra and the way Professor Svetlana teaches. Yoga has drastically improved my fundamental understanding of stress and anxiety management... Yoga has provided me with the ability to control my breathing, take a step back from the situation, and accept that not everything is within my control. These three lessons combined have afforded me perspective and clarity during moments that

Now I pause and take small moments during hectic days and practice breathing techniques to quiet my mind for example before exams. I have followed lifestyle changes that have improved my sleep patterns which improve clarity and memory retention making those
exams less stressful.

Yoga has helped me in both my school and outside school life through a greater understanding of my place in the world. That perspective allows me to accept that not everything is directly because of my choices and decisions. I have found life changing and improvements through routinely practicing yoga that will help me survive stressful and non-stressful times alike.

 

When I turned to yoga before my senior year, I was near a breaking point because of everything going on. Full-time work and school schedules while trying to find
post-graduate employment and internships throughout dealing with the more significant issues at large in society. Signing up for yoga for stress and anxiety management helped me to understand “I am not broken.”

 

My feelings of disconnection and anxiety about an uncertain future are not unique. We all struggle and cope with decisions every day, but the one thing that sticks with me is that we are allowed to make mistakes, and those can lead to greater happiness and understanding. Yoga has made my senior year much less stressful and more enjoyable because I am practicing the lessons I have learned.

 

I am not the most active person during school spending hours at a time behind a keyboard and monitor yoga gives me asanas and routines to quickly stretch and move without having to run to the gym and spend precious time on a machine.

Svetlana's yoga classes are unique in the sense that they combine discussions of the philosophy of yoga, practices designed to her pupils' needs, and a session of yoga nidra (or guided meditation).

Her knowledge is extensive and her dedication to the class is total. I've been taking her classes for 4 years now, and I keep learning new things every time we meet.

My overall experience with relaxation and Yoga Nidra and Sankalpa is what I have been looking for my whole life. I never knew the benefits of this asana until I took this class.

I need emotional and mental relaxation during my hectic days, and this is what I have found to help in between my hectic days. I find myself getting a break from my monkey mind. Also, I feel like I get a burst of energy afterward and I find that this helps me sleep before bed.

Then, based on our physical or emotional needs, Svetlana guides us through asana and meditation practice that is tailored to suit our daily requests.

We end every class with Yoga Nidra, a truly special practice of deep relaxation and going deeper within one's self.

​

It is my experience to leave class feeling rejuvenated both physically and emotionally, and the spiritual knowledge that I have gained over time has become a big part of my life and world view.
